Job Summary: The Night Maintenance Mechanic operates a variety of heavy equipment vehicles to push and load recyclable materials. Additionally, conducts operator inspections; performing preventive maintenance checks; studying and clarifying instructions and diagrams; calculating requirements; gathering materials and supplies; operating equipment; observing varying conditions; adjusting equipment controls.
Essential Responsibilities:
•
Operating material handlers and loaders of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, materials, and supplies.
•
Accomplishes work by operating equipment; observing varying conditions; adjusting equipment controls.
•
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy equipment operation environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.
•
Plans Performing routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment; cleaning equipment, greasing equipment and referring defects or repairs to supervisor and maintenance department
•
Improves equipment operation job knowledge by attending training sessions; reading technical publications.
•
Contributes to equipment operation and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
Experience and Education:
•
2 years; experience involving the use of medium and heavy equipment
•
Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations
•
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally
•
Forklift certified
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.37 - $27.87 per hour
