Job Summary: The Night Maintenance Mechanic operates a variety of heavy equipment vehicles to push and load recyclable materials. Additionally, conducts operator inspections; performing preventive maintenance checks; studying and clarifying instructions and diagrams; calculating requirements; gathering materials and supplies; operating equipment; observing varying conditions; adjusting equipment controls.
Essential Responsibilities:
•Operating material handlers and loaders of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, materials, and supplies.
•Accomplishes work by operating equipment; observing varying conditions; adjusting equipment controls.
•Maintains safe, secure, and healthy equipment operation environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.
•Plans Performing routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment; cleaning equipment, greasing equipment and referring defects or repairs to supervisor and maintenance department
•Improves equipment operation job knowledge by attending training sessions; reading technical publications.
•Contributes to equipment operation and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
Experience and Education:
•2 years; experience involving the use of medium and heavy equipment
•Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations
•Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally
