The NDT Inspector Trainee will report to the NDT Inspection Manager
The NDT Inspector Trainee will assist with performing NDT Inspection functions on various oilfield tools/parts in order to ensure that the aforementioned material is within the respective prescribed specification
· Assists with performing NDT Inspection on various oilfield tools/parts by performing the following (included but not limited to): dimensional inspection, UT, MPI, utilization of dye penetrant, using demagnetizing equipment, etc.
· Assists with performing NDT Inspection on various oilfield tools/parts in order to decide their approval, downgrade, or rejection
· Assists with making the decision of approving or rejecting customer product in accordance to respective quality requirements
· Locates and clearly describes defects and properly identifies and marks customer products accordingly
· Assists with recording data on applicable Inspection Reports as required.
· Maintains good housekeeping by keeping tools, material and equipment in proper place and keeping respective work area clean
· Uses hand grinders and cleaning fluid in preparation for NDT Inspection (i.e., removing rust, etc.)
· Degreases/cleans material by using solvents and/or other cleaning materials
· Assists with confirming instruments are in good condition and ensures proper calibration and correct functioning
· Assists with following applicable procedures and processes to properly document and maintain required documentation to ensure quality of the NDT Inspection process
· Ability to use dimensional inspection gages and other equipment that is utilized during the NDT Inspection process
· Must be willing to work overtime, weekends if needed, work long hours occasionally, and some travel will be required with company transportation provided
· Safely operates crane hoists and forklifts as needed in order to lift and maneuver parts
· High school diploma or GED is preferred
· 1-2 years of previous NDT Inspection experience is preferred
· 1-2 years of oilfield experience is preferred
· Ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations
· Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
