Coterra is hiring a Natural Gas Gathering and Processing Manager
As the Natural Gas Gathering and Processing Manager, you are responsible for negotiating, managing, and optimizing commercial agreements related to the gathering, compression, treating, and processing of natural gas. You will serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders (commercial, legal, land, and operations) and external parties including midstream service providers, producers, and joint venture partners. Ideally you will have a deep understanding of midstream commercial structures, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex contracts across multiple basins or assets. This position is located onsite at our headquarters in Houston, Texas.
- Negotiate, draft, and administer gas gathering, processing, and related midstream commercial agreements
- Evaluate contract terms and structures to optimize commercial value, operational flexibility, and risk mitigation
- Lead and mentor a team of G&P reps; provide strategic direction, performance feedback, and skills development
- Manage and maintain key midstream relationships with third-party service providers, joint venture partners, and counterparties
- Collaborate with internal teams including commercial, operations, land, legal, and finance to ensure alignment on contractual obligations and strategic goals
- Support business development initiatives through analysis of midstream options, commercial risk assessment, and deal structuring
- Monitor contract compliance and performance, including volumes, fees, and service quality; work with stakeholders to address discrepancies or disputes
- Track and communicate key contract milestones, renewals, and obligations
- Conduct market research and benchmark midstream commercial terms across regions to inform strategic decisions
- Assist in due diligence and integration of assets related to acquisitions, divestitures, or joint ventures
- Ensure internal systems and contract databases are accurate, current, and accessible
- Experience in the oil & gas industry with a focus on midstream agreements, land, or commercial contract management
- Strong understanding of natural gas gathering, treating, compression, and processing infrastructure and commercial models
- Negotiating and managing complex commercial agreements and fee structures
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, contract management systems, and data analysis tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Energy Management, or a related field
- MBA or Masters in Energy or Finance preferred
- Minimum of seven (7) years Oil and Gas Industry Experience, Ten years or more preferred
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting, and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame-resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
