We have an opening for an MWD Mechanical Technician at our SE Technical Centre. The MWD Mechanical Technician is accountable for maintaining measurement while drilling tool carriers required for directional and horizontal drilling operations.

Responsibilities also include:

- Check, tear down and service Velocity tool carriers.

- Troubleshoot mechanical problems.

- Maintain electronic tool history and service records.

- Maintain cleanliness and order in MWD lab.

- Rebuild Velocity, E-360i and E-360 gap subs.

- Maintain tools and equipment as required, including testing equipment and torque master.

- Work shifts and/or overtime as required to keep up with operational requirements.

- Work with the Engineering and Reliability department to identify potential improvements and modifications for MWD tools.

- Adhere to Phoenix’s SE Shop hours as well as participate in an on call rotation.

The successful candidate will have previous labor experience and be mechanically inclined with basic computer knowledge. A college diploma or degree in a related field is preferred, but not required.
