Covia is looking for a dynamic Laborer who will have a positive impact on our team at our Junction City, GA location. The Laborer is accountable to ensure the safe and productive operation of the plant and must possess aptitude for multiple disciplines and be proficient in the operation of equipment associated with all functional areas within the plant. The Laborer also backfills all operator positions within the plant for planned and unplanned absences and assists the maintenance crew as required.

Mine Supervisor
who will have a positive impact on the
Operations
team the Nepheline Syenite Operation located at the
Blue Mountain
facility.
The Successful Incumbent Will Have The Following Key Accountabilities•Provide Safety Leadership through regular safety inspections of Mining areas. Observe and reinforce safe work behaviors. Lead daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings. Promote and act to support a high level of site housekeeping, ergonomic initiatives, reduced employee dust exposure, and Near Hit reporting among others.
•Ensure timely investigation and reporting on all department-related safety incidents. Ensure compliance with report recommendations to prevent further occurrences.
•Schedule and coordinate all aspects of mining production while on shift. Produce daily shift reports.
•Assess new blast areas for scaling requirements and hazards prior to sending operators in. Ensure Drill Patterns are prepped and laid out for continuous production. Create Blast Maps for drillers and the Lab. Communicate Blast orders to Orica. Create Blast timing sheets, shot plans and blast reports.
•Perform data entry of operator sheets to ensure ore blend and tonnage requirements are being met and reported.
•Train quarry operators to perform all required duties. Follow all operating and safety procedures safely and efficiently. Participate in the revision of quarry operating procedures as required.
•Troubleshoot production and mechanical issues while on shift. Coordinate maintenance activities with the Mobile Maintenance and Maintenance Supervisor. Report all equipment faults promptly to ensure timely repairs on all equipment.
•Act as a liaison between the Quarry and other Departments, including Plant, Customer Service, Administration, and Maintenance.
•Perform management functions in strict accordance to the Collective Bargaining Agreements, including administering discipline. Administer all company policies, procedures, rules & regulations. This position requires an understanding of 2 Collective Bargaining Agreements.
•Perform the duties of Acting Mine Superintendent during the Mine Superintendent’s absence from the property. Provide vacation relief for the 8 hour-shift supervisors or other supervisors at NSO.
•Use survey gear to perform regular survey tasks in the quarry and other facilities on site.
•Perform any other duties as required to contribute to the continuous improvement of the Nepheline Syenite Operations.
Schedule
•The Mine runs 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. It utilizes 3 shifts that rotate Midnights (11pm-7am), Afternoons (3pm-11pm) and Days (7am – 3pm) for Blue Mountain and one day shift crew for the Nephton Plant (730 am -4PM).
•Mine supervisors are required to cover the rotating shifts to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts in the mine.
The Successful Incumbent Will Have The Following Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an Engineering field required
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mining Engineering preferred
•3-5 years’ experience in an Engineering position required
•Must possess strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
