Mill Operator I- 3rd shift

Overview:

This role is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient operation of the Continuous Tube Mill, including oversight of production processes and basic maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities:

- Set up and operate welded tube mill machinery in accordance with production specifications and safety protocols.

- Monitor and maintain product quality, production rates, and scrap levels to meet operational goals.

- Adjust basic tooling and holding fixtures to ensure proper machine function and product conformity.

- Perform visual inspections of finished parts to identify defects, burrs, or damage.

- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts to and from assigned machines.

- Prepare raw materials for processing, including measuring, handling, and staging materials as required.

- Observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or defective output; report issues promptly to Team Leader or Supervisor.

- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery and tools.

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company housekeeping and safety standards.

- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Ability to correctly read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.

- Ability to safely meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company.

- Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision; work alone and in a team environment.

- Ability to develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.

- Ability to maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.

- Demonstrate basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

- May be required to demonstrate strong customer relations skills.
