The main purpose and function of the Mill Operator is to operate the appropriate grinding, transfer system and/or crushing equipment to attain maximum efficiency while producing a quality product.
Must have the ability to work any shifts and any days.
- We operate 24 hours a day, 5 days a week.
- This will include working rotating shifts – day, evening, night.
- We will Train
- Operate grinding equipment and transfer system equipment in an efficient manner.
- Monitor Lab results, record and correct as needed.
- Prevent production of non-conforming material.
- Operate equipment in a manner to keep unnecessary maintenance problems to a minimum.
- Communicate with Lab, Dryer Operator and Bulk Loaders.
- Pass on relative information to next shift, leaving area in good condition for next operator.
- Specific responsibilities may include Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to conform to API Specification Q1, 9th Edition requirements by complying with the Quality Policy, procedures, and meeting QMS objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
- General Plant experience preferred but will train.
- Basic reading, writing and comprehension.
- Three (3) to six (6) months of General Plant experience preferred.
- Experience working in an API Specification Q1, 9th Edition environment a plus.
- Understanding of operational parameters for equipment.
- Ability to take accurate readings and measurements and record on proper reports.
- Ability to recognize changes that affect operation of equipment and the ability to correct problems.
- Peer-to-peer and employee-to-supervisor communication skills and interpersonal skills

- Must operate in variable weather and temperature, occasionally under extremely slick conditions.

- Sitting, bending, standing, walking, 8-10 hours per day.
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Must comply with any safety or PPE requirements.
- Attention to detail.
- Produce error-free work.

- Ensure that customers’ requests come first.
- Self-starter who thinks of innovative, faster ways to accomplish tasks.
