Microsoft Solutions Engineer

About the Role

We’re seeking a hands-on, in-office Microsoft 365 Solutions Engineer to lead the delivery of secure, scalable, and business-aligned configurations across our Microsoft cloud environment. In this role, you will work closely with IT leadership and business stakeholders to translate policy decisions into technical implementations that span security, compliance, automation, and collaboration.

This is not a helpdesk role — it’s an opportunity for someone who thrives on building and refining modern digital workplaces using the full Microsoft 365 platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and maintain policy-driven configurations across:

- Microsoft Intune for endpoint compliance and security

- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for identity governance and access control

- SharePoint Online for structured, permissioned document collaboration

- Power Automate for workflow and process automation

- Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) for data classification and DLP

- Partner with business stakeholders to design and build automations and security frameworks aligned with operational needs

- Build and maintain documentation and SOPs related to platform governance, identity, and compliance

- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, optimization, or risk mitigation within the Microsoft 365 environment

- Create and maintain PowerShell scripts or other automation tools to streamline administrative tasks and reporting

- Provide internal guidance and subject-matter expertise on the best use of Microsoft 365 services

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and engineering within the Microsoft 365 platform

- Proven expertise in Intune, Entra ID, SharePoint Online, Power Automate, and Microsoft Information Protection

- Solid understanding of identity and access management, device compliance, data retention, and labeling strategies

- Strong PowerShell scripting or equivalent automation experience

- Ability to work independently on projects and interface with non-technical stakeholders

- Excellent documentation and process design skills

- Must be comfortable working in a full-time in-office environment (Calgary or Houston)

Preferred Qualifications

- Microsoft certifications such as:

- MS-101: Microsoft 365 Mobility and Security

- SC-300: Identity and Access Administrator

- MS-500: Security Administrator

- MD-102: Microsoft Endpoint Administrator

- Or equivalent real-world experience

- Experience deploying security frameworks such as Conditional Access, MFA, DLP, and Zero Trust within Microsoft 365
