Basic Purpose
Develops and implements energy risk management processes throughout NVE. Establishes uniform standards within the company for risk assessment and measurement, risk expansion in additional functional areas, and evaluation techniques. Develops and implements advanced statistical modeling tools and techniques to measure and report on risks throughout the Company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
. Assists in the development, implementation and periodic review of energy risk management policies and procedures for effectiveness
. Provides analysis of energy supply portfolio risk reports and assesses various risk components. Reviews and validates valuation models/algorithms and assumptions
. Manages credit risks; establishes credit policies and approves counterparty credit limits
. Oversees the design and implementation of market risk and credit risk measurement and methodologies
. Monitors compliance to policies and guidelines, communicates any deviations and exceptions to the appropriate authority
. Develops quantitative and qualitative assessments and measures actual performance against corporate risk management policies, procedures and agreements
. Manages the Credit Risk function, sets overall strategic direction, directs staffing efforts, and prepares and is accountable for fiscal budgets
. Provides leadership, guidance, performance feedback and coaching to Credit Risk staff to ensure expected results are achieved
. Provides education and advice to the Company on risk management issues
. Assists in the development of uniform standards within the Company for risk assessment and measurement, including reporting requirements and evaluation techniques
. Participates in review of energy supply planningand energy supply cost forecasting.

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business or a related field and 6+ years of related experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Advanced knowledge of Risk Management. Excellent experience in financial, energy trading or other risk management areas. Understanding of energy industry risk management issues and practices, credit risk management, risk management accounting, regulatory issues and analytical tools and techniques.
Strong problem-solving and verbal and written communications skills. Ability to explain portfolio analysis to a diverse management team.
Equipment and Applications
Experience with analytical tools and advanced modeling and mathematical experience. PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. Overnight travel required.
