Job Description This job description is reflective of a Meter Electrician C role. Additional responsibilities and qualifications are required for the higher-level B-A roles. What you'll do:

The Meter Electrician C will install and maintain self-contained electric meters energized up to 240 volts in the shop and on customer premises.

- Read meters as required for field order and on schedule for cycle billing.

- Install, remove, change disconnect, and reconnect meters.

- Test singlephase, network, and polyphase self-contained meter for proper operation and accuracy.

- Program meters.

- Perform Credit and Collections related order including disconnect and reconnect for non-payment.

- Investigate irregular usage.

- Investigate energy diversion.

- Repair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosures.

- Order, receive, ship, store, and inventory meter and associated equipment.

- Investigate self-contained service power quality problems, install event recorders, neutral testers, and produce reports.

- Perform work from ladders and elevated platforms.

- Associates Degree in electrical/electronic technology


Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:


- Valid State Driver's License


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

- Within 24 months of employment, successfully complete the Company's training and qualification program for this position including: classroom instruction; written examination; job mentoring; and job performance demonstrations.

- Work overtime as needed including extended daily shifts and weekends. Work late shifts as needed.

- Work independently under semi-direct supervision in a safe-efficient, and productive manner

- Proficiently use computers and applications related to this position.

- Effectively communicate with other employees, customer, and the general public in a courteous and appropriate manner.

- Promote a positive image of the Company to customer and the general public. Comply with all aspects of the AEP Corporate Code of Conduct.

- Report hazards and abnormal conditions.

- Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in the training of other employees.

- There are additional expectations for the job and could include specific work experience, license / certifications, preemployment testing, expectations about travel, shift work, etc.

- Successful candidate must live within a 30-minute safe driving distance of the Marion Service Center located at 4504 S. Lincoln Blvd. Marion, IN.

Compensation Data Compensation Grade:

U021-150

Compensation Range:

$29.39-31.03 USD

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: M – Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
