Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide technical support for daily concentrator operation, optimization, and metallurgical performance. Conduct laboratory and plant scale test work to promote optimization of the concentrator process. Initiate and manage metallurgical related projects in the concentrator in order to optimize plant performance around recovery, concentration ratio, costs, etc. Provide technical support to the mine department related to backfill optimization utilizing concentrator tailings.
Qualifications and Skills:
•BS in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or relevant degree, and a minimum of 5 years technical experience at a mineral processing facility.
•Leadership qualities including: character, teamwork, communication, business sense and vision
•Thorough knowledge of plant unit processes for crushing, grinding, classification, flotation, thickening, filtering, pumping, tailings disposal, reagent systems, and sampling systems.
•Experience in sampling, automatic and manual systems, and sample handling and preparation.
•Laboratory skills related to metallurgical testing of plant samples and raw feed samples.
•Advanced Metallurgical accounting and data analysis skills.
•Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
•Excellent computer skills such as: Email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
•Experience in and understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Required:Sulfide flotation and processing experience.
•Hands on operating experience.
•Experience with plant process control instrumentation, such as, particle size monitors, on-stream analyzers, belt scales, flow-meters, reagent metering systems, etc.
•Experience with process control systems.
•Project design experience.
•Project Management experience.
•Plant maintenance knowledge.
•Experience with specialized process software (JKSimet, MetSim, etc).
•Knowledge and experience with MSHA regulatory requirements
Education & Experience
•BS in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or relevant degree and five years of relevant technical experience or ten years of relevant experience at a metallurgical processing facility
•Experience working in a pyro-metallurgical or hydro-metallurgical process facility is preferred
