Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assembly Operator to join our team in a fast-paced metal stamping manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the assembly process, combining part and components to create finish goods according to specifications.
Essential functions:
•Regular and dependable on-site attendance.
•May make minor procedural decisions in fitting and adjusting of parts, etc., but always within established guidelines.
•Meet customer delivery dates.
•Assembly procedures may involve adjusting, trimming, and fitting parts to moderately close tolerances, working with parts or components which are difficult to handle and other skills which require good dexterity and facility in the use of a variety of hand tools.
•Work is not typically highly repetitive, but the cycle of repetition may be short enough to allow the development of some habit patterns.
•Ability to work from drawings, samples, and work instructions.
•Ensure quality product through inspections.
•Operate, set up, and monitor assembly machines.
•Maintain a detailed record of production output.
•Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
•Load supplies into hoppers of dispensing units or manually align, feed, or otherwise place materials into machines.
•Clean workstations and remove scraps, dust, shavings or other by-products from machinery and surrounding areas.
•Conducts basic troubleshooting & makes adjustments accordingly.
•Reports equipment malfunctions to leads & supervisors.
•Follows safety protocols and keeps a clean & organized work area.
Experience
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
•Effective time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
•High level of manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
•Must be able to work from work instructions, detailed blueprints, assembly sketches or other input documents of similar complexity.
•Read and follow work instructions.
•Complete paperwork as necessary and a small amount of computer entry.
•Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
•Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements:
•Frequently required to sit at a desk or workstation for up to 10 hours a day.
•Prolonged periods of repetitive motion using arms and hands, sitting, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching.
•Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of equipment
•Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds and at times higher weights using a team-lift.
You will be required to wear PPE consisting of, but not limited to, steel-toed or composite-toed shoes, hearing and eye protection while working.
