Position Wage: $20.00 - $30.00/hr
Salaries are based on a number of factors, including the skills and experience of the candidates. It is common to be hired at the lower to middle end of a salary range and while it is possible to be hired at the higher end, it often requires unique circumstances, such as proven expertise.

Job Description:
The Mechanical Testing Technician is responsible for collaborating with all other Quality functions, providing resources and assistance and ensuring the consistent flow of product through the mechanical testing work center.
Job Duties amp; Responsibilities:
•Perform mechanical testing evaluations to determine the mechanical properties of metallurgical samples
•Document lab results in Bluestreak, Midwest Metallurgical Laboratories (MML) in-house operating system
•Assist the machine shop with sample preparation
•Perform various other metallurgical evaluations including but not limited to tensile, impact, hardness and bend testing
•Section and prepare samples for evaluation
•Coordinate the outsourcing of parts that need a third-party evaluation
•Perform micro hardness testing
•Document and interpret photographs of sample microstructures
•Perform basic maintenance on all mechanical testing equipment
•Calibrate equipment as required
•Monitor amp; maintain mechanical testing supplies
•Verify tags are accurate and complete
•Prepare items for transfer between various work centers
•Generate, fill out, and assist in the investigation of Non-Conformances
•Coordinate with lab personnel to ensure due dates are met and information flows to the correct individuals
•Ensure mechanical testing lab organization amp; cleanliness
•Instruct new workers in machine operation
•Maintain furnace equipment as needed

Minimum Requirements:

Physical amp; Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of but are not limited to the following:

•Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
•Ability to hear in person and via phone.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education is preferred.
Experience: Previous mechanical testing, machining and/or heat treat experience considered a plus
