Mechanical Technician – Houston, TX

Premium Oilfield Technologies – Drilling Equipment and Support is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our team in Houston, TX. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of top drive systems and other drilling equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and hydraulic background, experience in oilfield services, and the ability to work independently in demanding environments.

Job Responsibilities

Qualifications

✔️ High School Diploma or equivalent required (certifications are a plus).

✔️ Minimum 2 years of experience as a Top Drive Technician (experience with Varco, Tesco, and Canrig Top Drives preferred).

✔️ In-depth knowledge of top drive mechanical and hydraulic systems.

✔️ Familiarity with PLC Software, PanelView HMIs, and AC/DC drive systems.

✔️ Experience working with generators and their controls.

✔️ Strong ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

✔️ Proficiency in using hand tools, measuring equipment, and diagnostic tools.

✔️ Ability and willingness to travel as needed.

✔️ Must have personal hand tools for work.

✔️ Strong communication skills and a leadership mindset in service.

✔️ Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
