We are a growing organization seeking a talented Mechanical Scheduler to join our team as a pivotal member here at PBF Energy. This role is located at Torrance Refining Company in Torrance, CA.
This position is responsible for scheduling and timekeeping functions of hourly, represented personnel within the Mechanical Department.
- Administers weekly schedules for all represented Mechanical personnel in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
- Proactively anticipate additional requests from multiple stakeholders to weekly schedule (e.g., training, various absence types, overtime, etc.)
- Resolves issues for represented Mechanical employees regarding scheduling processes and procedures
- Resolves work order issues with supervisors and ensures corrections are processed
- Monitors approvals and provide payroll deadlines reminders
- Tracks the site’s Temporary Supervisor, and Special Project assignments communicates with supervisors to facilitate date extensions or assignment completions, and verifies the accuracy of documentation to ensure the proper increased wages are processed for pay purposes
- Stewards annual vacation scheduling for represented Mechanical personnel
- Annually post vacation picks
- Processes vacation change requests and ensures proper documentation is obtained
- Produces dynamic labor reports utilized by Mechanical management and various cross functional departments
- Compiles and distributes Equalization Report for daily overtime availability in accordance with the CBA
- Reviews and processes availability (Blue cards and Force List)
- Reviews and updates employee’s status (Not OT Qualified, Vacation, Sick, Temp Supervisor, Off, etc)
- Analyzes labor hour requests from multiple functional areas, and provides precise reports as requested
- Assists with site Attendance Control Program (ACP) for represented Mechanical personnel
- Assembles and provides required documentation for Mechanical grievances filed by the Local Union as needed
- Principal contact for Mechanical Department new hire training on practices pertaining to timesheets, pay, scheduling, vacation, overtime, etc.
- Distributes various communications to personnel to ensure clarification of scheduling and timekeeping procedures
- Associate’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of prior scheduling/timekeeping experience required - 3+ years of prior Workforce Software, Advanced Scheduler, experience highly preferred- Experience working with labor unions preferred

The pay range for this hourly position is $48,006.40 - $78,083.20. The compensation range listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, job-related skills and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate’s compensation. Salaries at the time of hire are typically in the lower to middle portion of the above range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect future performance-based increases.
