Job Summary: The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations related to mechanical systems and equipment within the facility. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the integrity and operational efficiency of the facility's mechanical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform thorough inspections of mechanical systems, to identify potential issues, defects, or non-compliance with established codes and standards.
•Review and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and other documentation to understand the design specifications and operational requirements of mechanical systems.
•Conduct testing and analysis of mechanical systems using various tools and instruments to assess their performance, efficiency, and safety.
•Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required to address any identified issues or deficiencies.
•Collaborate with facility managers, maintenance personnel, and contractors to coordinate and oversee the repair or replacement of faulty mechanical components or systems.
•Ensure that all mechanical installations, repairs, and modifications comply with relevant building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
•Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, and maintenance activities for documentation and reporting purposes.
•Stay up-to-date with changes in codes, regulations, and industry best practices related to mechanical systems and equipment.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent, with additional technical training or certification in mechanical inspection or a related field.
•Proven experience in conducting mechanical inspections, preferably in a facility or industrial setting.
•Thorough knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and relevant codes and standards.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
•Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
•Effective communication and documentation skills, both written and verbal.
•Familiarity with relevant inspection tools, testing equipment, and software applications.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with various stakeholders.
