A new division of an established aerospace company is looking to add a Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Intern to our team. As a fully integrated IN PERSON/NOT REMOTE member of the team, intern(s) have the opportunity to work closely with all members of our operations including the General Manager, Director of Operations and Plant Maintenance Manager. Interns will support projects and participate in activities to learn manufacturing, operations, production, sales, and quality within a fast-paced aerospace company.
Typical days and hours of work are IN PERSON/NOT REMOTE Monday to Friday 7:30am- 4:30 pm. We will work with school schedules and are open to part time.
· Work in a location that produces product.
· Learn the machinery and suggest ideas for efficiencies improvements.
· Develop strong personal relationships with Managers and Production Employees.
· With guidance from the Director of Ops, work on critical projects on the production floor that include analytics, trouble shooting and hands on operations.
· Spend time on the manufacturing floor, learning how to run machines, learn production scheduling, and understand the flow of material through the facility.
· Observe downtime and suggest any improvement ideas to help improve efficiencies.
· Must be able to handle multiple projects and effectively prioritize workload.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn and ability to communicate.
· Work within, and contribute to, a team environment.
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
· Be enrolled in college education or heavy college coursework in the field of engineering, supply chain, or business-related fields. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
· Must be able to speak fluent English.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs
