Roles and Responsibilities

- Act as a manufacturing expert for Generator Assembly in GE Vernova's Generator manufacturing operation in Schenectady NY.

- Define and control production processes; including tooling and equipment to be used in the winding process.

- Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.

- Troubleshoot issues with equipment and processes.

- Work with the shop to develop manufacturing methods, schedules, and documentation for improvements.

- Identify and execute projects to improve safety, quality, existing processes and lower cost within the shop.

- Provide documentation and training to shop floor to ensure seamless new product or process execution.

- Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and experience to execute policy/strategy.

- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

- Uses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Lead projects in manufacturing engineering, operations and lean. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

- Apply lean methods to equipment and material handling designs to reduce waste throughout the production process.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited university / college and 2 years of manufacturing experience in a technical role OR high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years manufacturing experience in a technical role.

- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future

- This position is 100% onsite at the GE factory in Schenectady, NY

Desired Characteristics

- Experience in an industrialized setting with large scale manufacturing and assembly operations.

- Experience with mechanical equipment.

- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

- Established project management skills.

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this position is $90,400.00 - $100,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 10 % variable incentive compensation.

- The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
