IWS is seeking Mechanical Drafter / Mechanical Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to join our team on a temporary basis (6 months). In this role, you will support the design, documentation, and manufacturing of oil field equipment. You'll collaborate closely with the manufacturing teams, contract manufacturers, engineers, and vendors to produce high-quality technical drawings, part designs, and assembly instructions using SolidWorks and other tools.

- Create and maintain detailed mechanical drawings, design packages, and 3D models for oil field equipment.
- Use SolidWorks to design parts, assemblies, and prepare drawings for fabrication and machining.
- Work closely with the manufacturing team and contract manufacturers to ensure technical accuracy and manufacturability.
- Develop and update assembly procedures, bill-of-materials (BOMs), and documentation for outsourced manufacturing.
- Ensure precision in dimensions, tolerances, materials, and specifications in all design work.
- Liaise with machine shops and vendors to obtain pricing, feasibility input, and assist in prototyping parts and assemblies.
- Translate conceptual ideas, sketches, or rough drafts from engineers into accurate technical drawings and models.
- Support the R&D Hardware Team and field technicians with drawings and technical documentation as needed.
- Modify and update existing CAD models and documentation in response to engineering feedback or client requests.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in mechanical drafting, design, or related engineering roles.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (required) and familiarity with industry drafting standards.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and materials.
- Ability to interpret and generate technical drawings, tolerancing, and GD&T.
- Experience working with machine shops, vendors, and prototype development.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Familiarity with oil field equipment or related heavy mechanical systems is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field preferred.
