Mechanical Designer

Actalent Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Designer opening with a machine manufacturer that serves the transportation industry that is located in York, PA. This person will be responsible for the design of new equipment as well as the support and integration of existing products through their entire life cycle.

Below is a summary of requirements for qualified candidates:

- Carry out design assessment and make a design plan

- Design and draft parts and assemblies using CAD software (Inventor - AutoDesk Products)

- Actively carry out tasks related to the design projects

- Assure design control using internal best practices, standards and processes

- Follow up throughout the project's life-cycle as well as after project end to evaluate and measure the result of the project

- Support project members in carrying out tasks related to the project

- Travel to customer locations to support product design activities, sales and service personnel

- Utilization of MRP system

- Work in conformance to ISO9001 or TS16949 standards as required for the customer

- Comply with customer requirement and utilize quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP/PPAP, and lean tools such as Kaizen, 5S, Five Why analysis, Poka Yoke

Below is a summary of requirements for qualified candidates:

- Associate's (Minimum in Engineering CAD Technology or a related discipline)

- 3+ years of experience working in the mechanical design field

- Experience using Inventor and the AutoDesk Suite of products (strongly preferred)

- Experience in machine design and/or transportation industry (strongly preferred)

- Mechanical aptitude as exhibited through hands on knowledge int he mechanical and electrical space, knowledge of basic hand tools, familiarization automotive mechanics/operations, knowledge of metals manufacturing, joining and cutting operations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
