Actalent Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Designer opening with an electronics manufacturer that serves the defense industry that is located in the Harrisburg, PA area. This person will be responsible for utilizing AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD to design mechanical product components and prepare the drawings for manufacturing. This person will also be responsible for fixture design as it relates to manufacturing.
Below is a summary of responsibilities for this position:

Assisting Mechanical Design Engineers in preparing 2D detail & assembly drawings from AutoCAD Inventor models
•
Document & ECO Control
•
Bills of material and part entry
•
Fixture Design
•
Component creation in Altium
Below is a summary of requirements for qualified candidates:
•
Associates Degree in Engineering CAD Technology or a related discipline
•
2+ years of experience in product design
•
A working knowledge of or demonstrated interest in gaining knowledge of ASME Y14.100M: Engineering Drawing Practice and ASME14.5: Dimensioning and Tolerance.
•
Good organizational skills, self-motivated, creative, strong attention to detail, the ability to multi task, and a willingness to learn.
•
Proficiency with AutoCAD
•
Proficiency in Inventor or a similar 3D CAD software
•
Strong communication skills, to be able to interact with interdepartmental personnel and customers.
•
Math skills including addition, subtraction, decimals and fractions sufficient for dimensioning with math associated with electronic circuit theory preferred.
•
Electronics industry experience preferred but not required
•
Defense industry experience preferred but now required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
Schedule:

8 hour shift
•
Day shift
•
Monday to Friday
Work Location: In person
