Job Title: Material Handler
Location: Waukesha, WI
Reports To: Core and Molding Supervisor
1st Shift 5:00AM - 1:30PM
Part I - Position Purpose
We are seeking a talented material handler to support the daily operations in the Core and Molding Department by staging, moving, and organizing raw materials, in-process items, and finished molds/cores. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining housekeeping standards, and supporting production goals.
Part II - Job Functions
- Transport raw materials (e.g., sand, binders, additives) to designated workstations or storage areas.
- Move completed cores and molds between workstations, storage racks, and pouring lines using appropriate equipment (crane, forklift, carts, etc.).
- Assist core makers and molders by staging tools, hardware, and materials as needed.
- Remove and properly dispose of scrap sand and debris from molding/coremaking areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of sand, core, and molding areas throughout the shift.
- Support the timely flow of materials to minimize downtime or production delays.
- Conduct daily pre-use inspections of material handling equipment and report maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Participate in department meetings and training related to safety, quality, and production improvements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift certification/license, experience with sit down forklift operation.
- At least 1 year manufacturing material handling or warehouse operations is with sit down forklift preferred.
- Ability to perform some lifting (up to 50 pounds)
- Basic math skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Active participant in teamwork and collaborative environment
- Proactive and resourceful to problem solve, asking questions when unsure of something
- Willingness to help team members, helping out in other departments on occasion depending on workload
