The Material Handler is responsible for moving, storing, and tracking materials and products within the manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient workflow and smooth operations. Additional tasks include loading and unloading shipments, organizing inventory, and safely operating and maintaining material handling equipment. Able to excel in a fast-paced environment, strictly adhering to safety protocols and working collaboratively with other teams.
· Work safely, following safety rules and procedures, including wearing appropriate protective equipment.
· Move materials as needed according to the production schedule using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
· Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, locations and movement within CDF’s inventory system and assist with cycle counts.
· Communicate effectively with production, receiving, and shipping teams to coordinate timely material delivery and flow of product throughout the plant.
· Prepare shipments, loading and unloading material from trucks and trailers.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent workplace hazards.
· Strong attention to detail, able to organize materials efficiently, and maintain accurate records
· Basic computer skills and previous experience with inventory management software and systems
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
· Basic math and measurement skills, including ability to read a tape measure
· Ability to use power tools and hand tools
· Previous forklift and warehouse or manufacturing experience
· Display an attitude of continuous improvement and problem-solving
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently on a repetitive basis throughout the shift and assist with team lifts of items weighing up to 100 pounds.
· Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods of time.
· Required to wear steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as specified.
· Must be able to safely maneuver pallets and crates using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
· Must adhere to all safety protocols and always demonstrate a commitment to a safe working environment.
