Are you looking for a hands-on role where you can play a key part in keeping production running smoothly? Morskate Manufacturing is seeking a dependable and hardworking Material Handler to join our team.
Reporting to the shop supervisor, you’ll be responsible for moving, organizing, and staging materials throughout the facility to support production and shipping activities. Your ability to safely operate equipment, follow instructions, and maintain accurate records will be essential to ensuring materials are delivered where they’re needed—on time and in good condition.

- Maintain excellent attendance record
- Stage raw material for fitters in a safe and timely manner using overhead crane and other mechanical aids
- Load fabricated structural steel products onto wagons using overhead crane for primer application
- Removal of finished structural steel product on wagons from production facility and stage for yard forklift operators to move to designated laydown areas
- Palletize smaller finished products, strap and mark accordingly to be removed from shop using forklift for yard team to move to designated laydown areas
- Clearly communicate and work collaboratively with equipment operators cutting parts, fitters requiring material, as well as the yard team of forklift operators receiving the finished product from the shop
- Maintain good housekeeping in shop by removing empty pallets, wood and plastic, etc. and placing material accordingly
- Maintain forklift equipment by performing pre-use inspections and troubleshoot issues
- Safe operation of overhead crane and mobile equipment for material movement

- Trained and competent in forklift operation
- Previous experience in a fabrication environment
- Ability to assess weights, judge distances and heights
- Must have good time management, organization and people skills
- Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English clearly
- Possess problem solving skills
- Active participation in company safety program
- Follow safety protocol including wearing of required PPE and understanding and application of safety policies, procedures and practices

We offer competitive starting wages beginning at $23.00-$25.00 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience, skill level, and how well you align with the role. We appreciate dedication and commitment, and we conduct thorough performance reviews after three months and annually to acknowledge outstanding work and support employee growth.
