BayWa r.e. Americas is seeking a Markets & Strategy Manager
to join our Commercial team.
The individual will manage project origination and other business development efforts, including market and siting strategy, policy advocacy, and project acquisitions in the Eastern U.S., with a focus on PJM and NYISO.
- Develop and manage BayWa’s go-to-market strategy for Eastern markets.
- Lead market analysis and site selection for greenfield project development and identify and manage early-stage project acquisitions.
- Work cross-functionally with colleagues on our Development, Interconnection, and other subject matter expert teams to ensure early-stage project advancement.
- Lead regulatory initiatives and advocacy that advances new markets for renewable energy and storage development and operations, as aligned with company strategic objectives.
- Become an expert in Eastern power markets with a focus on PJM and NYISO, including identifying revenue opportunities and leading project economic model revenue optimization and analysis
- Originate and assist with structuring and closing large wholesale power transactions in coordination with the Power Marketing team.
- Coordinate with our IPP team to ensure our operating assets in Eastern markets are positioned to respond to impactful policy changes.
- Present analysis and recommendations to key stakeholders and senior level management; including but not limited to preparing investment memoranda and presentations for the Executive Committee.
- Travel up to 20%.
- Expertise and interest in power markets, policy analysis, revenue modeling, and transaction execution
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills within a multi-disciplinary project team
- Ability to provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office, solar design software, storage modeling software, and geospatial software (e.g. GIS).
- Bachelor’s degree plus minimum three years relevant industry experience; or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with minimum two years of relevant work / educational experience.
- Minimum of one year of work experience developing and implementing product/project or corporate strategy and presenting to senior leadership; power industry experience preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience tracking and evaluating energy policy. Experience includes direct participation in industry advocacy groups.
- Minimum of two years of project development-related experience in power generation, particularly in identifying sites for generation and storage, interconnection application submittal support, and conducting early-stage land and commercial diligence.
- Minimum of two years of North American power market experience; PJM and/or NYISO experience preferred.

- The salary range for this role is $140,000 to $150,000 depending on experience.
