Position: Marine Rigging Technician

Location: Canoe Cove Marina, North Saanich, BC

Blackline Marine Inc. is a well-established marine repair and service company located in Sidney, BC. For 45 years, we have provided high-quality rigging services, metalwork, composite repairs, and paint refinishing—primarily serving the pleasure craft market. We are a multi-service, industry-leading team known for craftsmanship, professionalism, and innovative solutions.

We are currently seeking a permanent full-time team member to join our Marine Rigging Department at Canoe Cove Marina.

About the Role

This position involves hands-on rigging work on a wide range of sailboats. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of sailing, and a willingness to learn and grow with our team.

Key Responsibilities

- Working aloft on masts and rigging systems

- Building and installing standing and running rigging

- Performing general installation work on sailboats

- Assisting with minor metal fabrication

- Supporting rigging projects with accuracy, safety, and professionalism

Qualifications

- Sailing experience is required

- Rigging or marine repair experience is an asset

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

- Reliable, motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team

- Comfortable working at heights and in a marine yard environment

This position requires strong attention to detail. Activities will include: working aloft, building & installing standing and running rigging, general installations work, minor metal fabrication, etc. You will be joining our industry leading team; a solid work ethic and reliability are a must.
