The Manufacturing Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to support manufacturing operations, including identifying suppliers, assists with cost estimates, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of components and materials. This role also manages projects related to new product introduction, cost reduction, and supplier transitions. A strong cross-functional leader, this individual works closely with sales, engineering, operations, procurement, and finance teams to meet company objectives in quality, cost, and delivery.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers globally to ensure competitiveness in cost, quality, and delivery.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors and suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Support new product development (NPD) by aligning sourcing activities with design and production schedules.
- Assist with project management team from time to time regarding customer demands
- Lead cost estimating activities for new products, by collaborating with sales, engineering and production teams to analyze drawings, specifications, and BOMs to generate accurate cost estimates.
- Maintain cost databases and benchmarks to support price validation and negotiations.
- Provide cost input for bids, RFQs, and strategic sourcing decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business, or related field, preferred
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing sourcing, cost estimation, and project management.- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and cost estimating software.
- PM P or equivalent project management certification a plus.
