Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Manufacturing Manager. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Direct the development, implementation, and adherence of a stringent safety program for the entire manufacturing process and its facilities.
- Supervision of entire manufacturing facility including, scheduling, production, material movement, safety, manufacturing, laboratory processes, and all associated administrative functions.
- Review and assist in the preparation of proposals, with emphasis on cost, schedule, with proposed delivery.
- Responsible for monthly production forecasts and results, assists with annual operating plans.
- Plan and execute strategies (i.e. production, capabilities and long range capacity & planning, specifying and allocating resources that may be required to meet strategic alternatives, facility layout, etc.) and review with upper management.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct the plant to produce quality products efficiently and economically with the highest regard for a safe workplace and clean environment.
- Interface with all necessary parties to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Implement and maintain a production plan to successfully manufacture and deliver quality products on time.
- Control production costs and product quality, and control production and inventory programs to maintain a supply chain that meets production schedules.
- Recommend and implement changes with measures for continuous improvement. Monitor results and if necessary, submit a plan to regain forecasted goals.
- Analyze non-conformances to enable corrective action(s) required to reduce and/or eliminate scrap
- Direct a team of supervisors and administrative personnel.
- Select and develop employees who possess the qualities, technical skills and experience that will enable them to become effective and successful contributors.
- Create a working environment that actively develops and encourages employees to achieve their maximum potential and overcome deficiencies through education, mentoring, and on-the-job training.
- Lead and influence the activity of employees in a desired direction; demonstrate the ability to inspire support, trust and loyalty from your employees.
- Promote teamwork and distribute work among subordinates to ensure achievement of group objectives targeted goals.
- Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of your personnel, assign duties according to proficiency to create and maintain an efficient and successful staff.
- Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
- Establish and maintain a work force capable of meeting targeted goals with maximum efficiency projections. Increase or reduce workforce to comply with operational demands.
- Enforce policy uniformly and apply disciplinary actions up to and including termination as dictated by policy. Correct or eliminate underperformers without undue delays.
- In cooperation with HR and upper management, evaluate talent and recommend compensation increases and/or promotions as warranted.
- Participate in developing long range goals and objectives for the business unit.
- Develop, direct and coordinate activities for attaining the goals controlled by manufacturing management as described herein.
- Review the activities, costs, and forecast data to determine progress of goals and objectives
- Confer with upper management to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals based on current conditions and future projections.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Engineering with at least five (5) years previous manufacturing management experience; or at least eight (8) years of manufacturing supervisory experience without a degree
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability for leadership in a team environment
- Must be self-motivated and have strong ability as leader
- Basic computer literacy and mathematical skills are required
- Use of a computer, phone, and other office equipment, including copier/scanner, etc.
- Prolonged sitting
- Frequent walking, standing and use of stairs
- Moderate physical effort may be required, including but not limited to bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, pulling, and reaching objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
