The Manager of Manufacturers' Representatives is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the performance of independent Manufacturers Representation companies that promote the company’s products. This role involves strategic planning, relationship management, performance tracking, and ensuring alignment with corporate sales goals across territories.
- Representative Management:
- Recruit, onboard, and train manufacturers' representatives.
- Establish clear performance expectations and KPIs.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching or corrective action as needed.
- Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop territory sales strategies.
- Ensure reps are equipped with up-to-date product knowledge, marketing materials, and pricing.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.
- Relationship Building:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and its representatives.
- Foster strong, long-term relationships with reps to ensure loyalty and alignment.
- Resolve conflicts and address concerns promptly and professionally.
- Reporting & Analytics:
- Track sales performance across territories and representatives.
- Prepare regular reports for leadership on rep effectiveness, market penetration, and revenue growth.
- Use data to identify opportunities for improvement or expansion.
- Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure representatives adhere to company policies, branding standards, and ethical sales practices.
- Maintain documentation and contracts for all rep relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in sales management, preferably with manufacturers' reps.- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Experience in [insert industry, e.g., industrial equipment, consumer electronics, etc.].
- Multilingual capabilities for international territories.
