About The Role
Base is seeking an Operations Leader that will lead a high-volume manufacturing team at our first factory in Austin. This position will oversee multiple areas and shifts ensuring safe and quality assembly of our products. A successful candidate will be able to develop their leaders and organizations, establishing a culture of ownership, accountability, and world-class manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a track record of significant achievements, tremendous drive, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves.
Responsibilities
- Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high-quality products against aggressive production targets
- Maintain a culture that prioritizes safety and quality through communication, action, and accountability
- Define shop objectives to meeting business plans, capacity & headcount target, and key performance indicators
- Empower the production team to collaborate with engineering to improve product manufacturability and line productivity
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, HR, and Maintenance to resolve issues, enhance product manufacturability, and boost line productivity
- Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & an environment of continuous learning and improvement
- Ensure consistency in standards and documentation. Monitor for compliance as well as support and manage continuous improvement activities in safety, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity objectives- 10+ years in a high-volume manufacturing setting, 5 years experience managing teams
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering discipline and/or evidence of exceptional experience, or equivalent
- Experience with new facility bring-up highly preferred
- Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (6 sigma, lean, 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys, etc.) to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills with strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
