TK Modular Systems designs, fabricates, and integrates modular process equipment and controls for the Pharmaceutical, BioTech and Industrial markets. All process equipment and support structures are fabricated from stainless steel in a clean environment. Once designed and built, the systems are factory tested and installed on a client’s site.
The Manufacturing Engineer will work cross-functionally with Design (Mechanical, Process, Electrical), Quality Assurance, and Production to develop manufacturing routings, optimize processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold our high-quality standards
· Design and develop manufacturing processes for stainless-steel modular systems (frames, skids, pipework, utility modules).
· Develop manufacturing processes routings, and qualifications in ERP system to populate job travelers.
· Interpret drawings, P&IDs, and process design documents; translate them into detailed manufacturing plans.
· Participate in design reviews to evaluate concepts, identify potential issues, and propose enhancements for functionality, manufacturability, transportation, and compliance.
· Develop manufacturing work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Collaborate with Design, Automation, QA/inspection to integrate Factory Acceptance Testing, borescope weld inspections, and regulatory compliance.
· Design fixture and tooling for fabrication and assess any required additional equipment.
· Liaise with supply chain and procurement to specify parts, generate BOMs, and track sourcing.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean principles, KPIs) to elevate throughput, reduce defects, and streamline operations.
· Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support during assembly, testing, and commissioning phases.
· Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
· A minimum of ten years of engineering experience in a fabrication/assembly manufacturing environment.
· Proven experience in developing process routings in ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
· Experience with custom or modular equipment manufacturing in highly regulated industries (pharma, biotech, food, nuclear).
· Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably Autodesk or CREO
· In-depth understanding of welding processes (TIG, automatic welding), ASME BTH, B30.20, OSHA, and ASME/CSA standards (B31.1/B31.3 pipe, BPE, W59, AWS D1.1).
· Strong knowledge of stainless-steel fabrication and sanitary piping systems would be an asset.
· Skilled in interpreting P&IDs, structural drawings, and fabricated assembly for modular skids would be an asset.
· Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and client-facing activities.
· Proactive in identifying inefficiencies and developing solutions to optimize operations.
· Lean/Kaizen or Six Sigma certification would be an asset.
· Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP, 21 CFR part 210/211) would be an asset.
