Manual Machinist

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating various machining tools and equipment. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. As a Manual Machinist, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality components that meet our manufacturing standards.

Duties

- Operate a manual Lathe to produce precision parts.

- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.

- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges to ensure accuracy.

- Apply GD&T principles in the setup and inspection of machined components.

- Maintain tooling and hand tools in good working condition; troubleshoot any issues that arise during the machining process.

- Adhere to safety protocols while operating machinery and handling materials.

Skills

- Strong mechanical knowledge with a background in manufacturing processes.

- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and other specifications.

- Knowledge of tooling requirements for various machining operations.

- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.
