SUMMARY
The Global Exploration Drilling Manager will lead Coeur Mining’s worldwide drilling operations, overseeing a team of drill supervisors and contract drill teams across multiple regions. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing global drilling strategies, building SOPs for drilling, and driving improvements in safety, environmental compliance, operational efficiency, and data quality. The role requires close collaboration with site and corporate exploration leadership, drill contractors, HSE teams, and operations.
- Champion a culture of collaboration, resilience, and integrity by modeling and reinforcing Coeur’s core values across all drilling teams and contractor partnerships, ensuring these principles are embedded in daily operations, team interactions, and cross-site engagements.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the global team of Drill Supervisors to ensure consistent execution of drilling programs across all Coeur Mining sites.
- A focus on drill site safety, ensuring best practices are maintained and monitored at each drill rig, with attention to continual improvement
- Design, negotiate, roll out, and manage a global drill contract with a preferred supplier to ensure long-term cost control, best practice, highest standards of HSE and value optimization
- Develop and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for drilling operations across the company, ensuring consistency in performance, quality, and reporting.
- Partner with industry HSE leadership to set and maintain industry-leading safety and environmental standards and ensure compliance across all global drilling activities.
- Monitor drilling performance metrics, cost efficiency, and program progress at all sites, proactively identifying and addressing any variances.
- Coordinate with site teams and operations to optimize drill sequencing and logistics while minimizing operational disruptions.
- Maintain relationships with the drilling contractor(s) worldwide and conduct regular performance reviews and strategic alignment meetings.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on lessons learned from prior campaigns, technological advancements, and operational feedback.
- Ensure high-quality core and RC sample recovery and oversee quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) protocols.
- Support training and professional development for the global drilling workforce to build operational excellence and ensure minimal disruption for Coeur.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in drilling program management, with at least 5 years in a multi-site or global leadership role.
- Extensive experience as a Drilling Superintendent or equivalent with an independent or major core drilling company.
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple drilling operations across different geographies and time zones.
- Strong technical knowledge of core drilling methods, drilling mechanics, drill bits, motors, mud systems, and equipment optimization.
- Demonstrated experience in global contract negotiation, cost tracking, and budget management.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to implement and enforce HSE standards without sacrificing operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of working across cultures and languages.
- Knowledge of drilling management software (such as CorePlan)

This role requires regular travel to multiple global sites, including remote exploration and mining environments. Candidates must be prepared to work in varying climates and conditions, including exposure to surface and underground operations.
The salary range offered for this role is USD $140,000-$160,000 range. The salary range is a good-faith estimate. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Coeur Mining will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Coeur Mining.
