Job Summary
Manager Field Operations Support is responsible for the development and implementation of field support services, specifically line clearance and inspection. This position is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and completion of work plans and adherence to all associated company and regulatory standards.

- Responsible for the strategic oversight of company-wide distribution system contracts, including development of long-term contract philosophy, initiation of best practices for contracting services, and providing technical assistance and direction to contract management departments.
- Manages the administration of utility construction contracts to maximize efficiencies and productivity and minimize cost and liability.
- Negotiates and manages utility construction contracts.
- Manages and sets direction for line clearance, required electric maintenance, and inspection activities.
- Assists with the auditing contract crew safety, quality, and billing in accordance with the contract.
- May be responsible for the planning, coordinating, and directing of technical training policies, programs, and schedules based on knowledge of identified training needs, regulatory mandates, company production processes, business systems, or change in procedures or services.
- May manage in‐house and externally provided training programs, practices, and procedures to ensure optimal utilization of personnel.
- Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Engineering or related area. Preferred
- 5 years of experience in electric construction, gas and electric operations, project management, technical training, or related work.
- 3 years supervisory experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working with labor union management.
- Working knowledge of electric, gas or steam operating practices, construction standards, work methods, equipment, maintenance practices, regulatory compliance and materials preferred.
- Knowledge of safety rules and applicable electric codes and DOT regulations preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand utility maps, plan and profiles, and drawings preferred.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
- Demonstrated financial skills such as budgeting and basic accounting.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
