Maintenance Technician

We are a Property Management company and have an immediate opening for a maintenance/make ready technician. This is a contract position and scheduling is Monday through Friday, 9AM-6PM and the occasional Saturday. Our properties are located throughout San Antonio and the surrounding area. Pay rate starts at $25.00!!! Experience level will dictate the actual beginning hourly rate. Preferred candidates will have experience performing the following duties under general supervision. Perform routine tasks related to the maintenance, repairs and modifications of homes/units, equipment and common areas as requested. Repair and maintain physical structures such as single family, multi-family homes and apartment units using hand tools and power tools. Perform basic painting, carpentry, electrical and plumbing repair work of average difficulty in response to service requests. Operate and maintain approved power tools and light mechanical equipment.

Preferred candidates will have the following skill sets:

1. Basic carpentry (both interior and exterior)

a. Replace door & door frame

b. Replace windows

c. Repair/replace base board and other trim

d. Repair damaged drawers and cabinet door

e. Repair/replace siding and exterior trim, etc.

2. Basic electrical (install ceiling fans/replace outlets/replace light fixtures/test breakers)

3. Plumbing knowledge/ ability to include:

a. Using power auger to clear lines

b. Sewer camera to investigate issues

c. Unclog drains/sewer lines

d. Replacing under sink plumbing

e. Repair/replacing sink faucets and shower valves

f. Repair broken water supply lines

g. Install water heaters

4. Basic drywall repair and paint ability

5. Basic flooring repair and installation (primarily vinyl plank/some tile)

6. Installation of appliances such as dishwashers, refrigerators, stove/ovens, and microwaves

7. Other basic skills:

a. Change/replace locks/deadbolts/ knobs

b. Replace weather stripping on doors

c. Replace/repair caulk around tubs/shower/surrounds/etc.

d. Trouble shoot garage door/door opener issues

e. Fence repair

f. HVAC Certification is a PLUS!!! But not required

ALL candidates MUST have:

1. a current driver's license,

2. your own transportation (truck is preferred)

3. your own tools

4. be able to pass a background check,

5. be able to pass a drug screening test.
