The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the safe and effective maintenance, repair, and servicing of facilities-related equipment, buildings, and accessories. This role also involves performing installations for capital and/or expensed projects, with a paramount focus on safety in all tasks.
· Interpret technical documents (manuals, drawings, schematics, work orders, handbooks, code books) to understand system requirements, work scope, materials, and procedures.
· Follow verbal instructions for operations and assignments.
· Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical distribution, lighting, HVAC, fans, and ventilation systems, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
· Maintain and service fire protection systems, alarms, and yard sprinklers.
· Address maintenance needs for structural items, guard rails, and all other facility equipment.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper disposal of scrap materials in designated containers.
· Communicate material and supply needs to the storeroom.
· Actively promote and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
· Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with all employees.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for explaining complex problems and understanding work assignments.
· Excellent hand-eye coordination is necessary for operating the required equipment.
· Ability to stand for at least 10 hours.
· Capable of lifting items weighing between 50 to 100 pounds and carrying them up to 50 pounds.
· Good vision is required; color blindness is not permitted.
· Must be able to safely work at heights over 25 feet.
You will regularly operate and utilize a variety of tools and machinery, including but not limited to:
TESTING (What tests are required to determine skill levels):
· This will cover all the skills and trades relevant to the job functions, including HVAC, plumbing, structural maintenance, and equipment operation.
· Candidates will need to demonstrate their ability to understand and interpret schematics, likely for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, likely related to building structures and layouts, will be assessed
