The Maintenance Technician, Electrical, conducts daily electrical maintenance execution activities, ensuring safe, quality work practices are maintained while maximizing availability of equipment across the facility. This position is located in Brownsville, TX.
+ Demonstrate a proactive safety attitude at all times. Always follow safe work practices, adhere to NextDecade’s lifesaving rules, and comply with permitting processes. + Maintain a strong focus on the safety and well-being of the execution team, leading by example to foster a positive safety culture of compliance and continuous improvement for apprentices and contractors. + Engage and communicate effectively with other departments, including Engineering, Operations, Safety, Procurement, Training, Planning, Specialist Vendors, and Contractors, while upholding a One-Team approach. + Provide initial support and ongoing review of preventive and corrective maintenance plans. + Participate in reviewing maintenance documentation, such as work instructions, job safety analyses, permitting, and redlining of documents. + Assist in the execution of electrical maintenance activities, including breakdowns, corrective actions, and preventive maintenance within the facility. + Provide support for turnarounds as needed. + Ensure the safe and high-quality completion of all assigned activities. + Fulfill Permit Holder responsibilities for the execution of work at RGLNG. + Maintain personal training and competency compliance. + Actively participate in all maintenance meetings, including HSSE meetings, pre-starts, and tailgate sessions.
+ High school diploma or GED. + 5+ years of experience in a hydrocarbon or petrochemical facility in an electrical maintenance execution role. + Current licensed electrician qualification in Texas or the ability to obtain it per TDLR requirements. + Current Low Voltage Rescue and Resuscitation certificate. + Qualifications aligned with NEC Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas inspections and repairs. + Competent in interpreting engineering drawings and documentation, such as P&IDs, ISOs, GA drawings, logic diagrams, control narratives, cause-and-effect matrices, loop diagrams, and wiring schematics. + Experience in testing and inspecting Safety Critical Elements (SCE) to ensure statutory and federal regulatory compliance. + Proficiency in using CMMS systems (SAP or similar). + Experience in working with and redlining critical maintenance procedures. + Strong working knowledge of the Management of Change (MOC) process. + Experience performing maintenance activities during turnarounds. + Proficiency in electrical fault finding and diagnosis, lighting maintenance, electrical disconnection/reconnection for equipment access, and Motor Control Centre (MCC) routine maintenance. + Experience in high- and medium-voltage switchgear, transformer, and motor maintenance. + Experience in UPS and backup power supply maintenance. + Proficiency in low-voltage (LV) system and equipment maintenance. + Experience in Electrical Lockout Tagout (LOTO) procedures, including isolation work in motor control centers (MCCs), motors, pumps, and compressors, in compliance with the Owner’s Permit to Work (PTW) system. + Ability to provide commercial building electrical support as required (site offices and buildings). + Extensive experience with Permit to Work (PTW) systems and processes. + Experience in writing and reviewing work instructions. + Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + A hands-on approach to work. + Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC).
