Maintenance Mechanic

Job Overview:

Therefore, a Maintenance Mechanic’s primary focus is to keep our production lines running at maximum efficiency. The mechanic will get exposed to various mechanical and electrical systems throughout our many processes. This vast and quick exposure is valuable while creating depth within our maintenance teams. We strive to do things right the first time while working with a sense of urgency. Being a problem solver is a fundamental attribute to move up within the TSC family.

Standard work hours are 7:00 - 6:30 AM or PM, Monday-Saturday. Ability to float nights is a plus. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee may be required to operator a forklift, scissor lift, or man-lift. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. A physical and drug test are required before employment.

A mechanic at TSC has three grades before potentially becoming a leadman or supervisor. The daily responsibilities are directed by the maintenance leadman. The plant engineer has a direct line of communication to the industrial mechanic.

*Candidate must supply his/her own tools. Specifics can be discussed during interview. Specialty tools may be provided by company.

Qualifications:

· Knowledge of tools of varying complexity. Being able to see an application and know the tools required to get the job done. At times designing your own tools. From hydraulic jacks, Spanner wrenches, OD mics, machine levels, volt meters, metric and imperial wrenches, grinders, band saws, welders, plasma cutters, and several others.

· Troubleshooting ability

· Knowledge of reading schematics coupled with ordered parts

· Organizational skills to keep daily notes and line priorities

· Understands critical equipment and perform proper PM

· Effective communication

· Knowledge and adherence to LOTO and OSHA regulations

· Understanding standardization of parts, along with part identification per production line

· Basic understanding of cost

· Housekeeping, waste reduction

· Hydraulic and pneumatic exposure and knowledge

· Beneficial skill sets:

· Knowledge of CNCs

· PLC or motor control troubleshooting

· HVAC maintenance

· Cutting and welding

· Bilingual

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
