Maintenance Mechanic

Position Description

Position Description: Install, maintain, diagnose and repair equipment/instrumentation related to the unloading, loading, transfer and storage of cargo including cranes, bulldozers, front-end loaders, forklifts, and conveyors.

Position Requirements:

A position with broad assignment under periodic supervision. May act as an assigned leader for other maintenance employees. May be assigned to general duties in all areas of operations of the terminals. Refresher training in maintenance, operations, safety and environmental as required.

 The successful installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of rolling equipment, conveyance systems and related equipment.

 Maintain maintenance shop, parts inventory, documentation and records as required.

 Housekeeping and general maintenance as required.

 Respond to call-out to perform maintenance duties.

 Upkeep of assigned equipment or tools

 Perform any other type of terminal function as trained and as instructed by the supervisor.

Position Requirements

Demonstrated work experience in the field of diesel engine maintenance and/or equipment repair.

 Certification in diesel repair and/or welding is a plus.

 Must possess and demonstrate mechanical and welding skills.

 Must have work experience in the field of mechanical belts and drives.

Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

 Ability to work at protected heights up to 80 feet.

 Must meet medical criteria for use of respiratory protective equipment as outlined in OSHA 1910.134.

 Demonstrated aptitude to execute and maintain necessary records.

 Must have the ability to take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and work cooperatively with others.

Requires work in all types of weather conditions

 Must be available to work all shifts and weekends

 Must be available to respond to call-out as assigned on a 24/7 basis

Must be able to secure and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
