Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

This entry-level Maintenance position is located in Waycross, GA, and ensures safe and efficient plant operation through repair, fabrication and installation of new equipment while maintaining all Quality and Safety measures. These DAY SHIFT positions are routinely scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 5:30pm

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

- Work with Maintenance Manager and facility Management to establish a program to eliminate downtime in trouble areas.

- Repair production equipment safely and as quickly as possible after a breakdown

- Work on assigned projects

- Fabricate and install new equipment

- Maintain machinery according to Preventative Maintenance Program

- Troubleshoot equipment

- Utilize safe work habits

- Wear appropriate PPE

- Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines and procedures

- Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines and procedures

- Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines and procedures

- Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Qualifications

- High School diploma or equivalent

- Background in fabrication, mechanical and electrical repair with use of shop tools preferred

Job Requirements

- Ability to work overtime and shift work as required

- Standing up to 12 hours daily

- Walking up to 12 hours daily

- Bending/Stooping up to 12 hours daily

- Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping/fastening) up to 12 hours daily

- Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. regularly

- Push/Pull up to 12 hours daily

- Travel less than 10%
