Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description: As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for resolving mechanical and electronic problems and performing various maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the efficient operation of our facilities and equipment. This hands-on role requires strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues. You will be working with conveyors, electronics (AC & DC), hydraulics, heavy equipment, trucks and trailers.

Responsibilities: Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment as assigned by management. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair diesel mechanical and electrical on plant equipment, lift trucks, heavy equipment, and semi-truck and trailer such as low voltage wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Execute timely hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machine repairs. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory. Collaborate with other team members to complete maintenance projects. Effectively communicate with management, about diagnostics, repair steps taken, and estimated time of completion.

Physical Requirements:

- Frequent climbing, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, twisting, bending, kneeling, crawling, and grasping.

- Standing and walking for extended periods.

- Repetitively lift and carry 20 and 50 lbs.

- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. frequently (unassisted).

- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments, both mechanical and electrical.

- Work in confined spaces and climb several flights of stairs and ladders up to 150 feet.

- Hearing, seeing (acuity - near and far).

- Exposure to environmental conditions (frequently walking in and outdoors) with exposure to extreme cold and warm temperatures

Requirements: Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field. Strong diesel mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Well versed in chasing wires and low voltage troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise others if required. Must be able to take initiative and work independently or as a team to meet company goals. Must communicate well with coworkers and management. Be able to follow directions and willing to learn. Highly disciplined problem solver with a strong work history and proven success working with a team of technical professionals. Must be on time, every day. Must be willing to work 50-60 hours a week with an occasional Saturday.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

- 1-2 years of vocational training or equivalent experience in maintenance mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, electronics, heavy equipment, and automotive repair. 2-3 years of hands-on mechanical repair experience. Knowledge and experience working with machinery maintenance, and electrical. Experience in plant and production equipment maintenance, including mechanical and some electrical repair, is preferred. Experience in an automotive repair shop is beneficial. Experience in heavy equipment diagnosis and repair is beneficial. Welding and fabrication experience is beneficial.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift

- 8 hour shift

- Monday to Friday

- Overtime
