We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Maintenance Execution Manager. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL. This position will require candidates to work a Monday– Friday schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President Operations, the Maintenace Execution Manager role is critical in driving operational excellence and ensuring alignment with Tacora’s asset management strategy.
•Lead the execution of maintenance activities in compliance with Tacora’s asset management framework.
•Provide strategic leadership to the maintenance team by clearly communicating current and future operational goals.
•Foster a “big picture” mindset to help the team understand how their decisions impact upstream and downstream processes.
•Ensure maintenance operations meet the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and efficiency.
•Oversee site-wide maintenance performance, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary responsibilities include the following:
•Leads and manges the execution of Tacora’s asset management strategy.
•Sets role and capability requirements to meet the asset management strategy objectives and plans.
•Develops and deploys asset strategy to teams and individuals.
•Contributes to Tacora’s asset management strategy
•Develops asset management strategies for area of responsibility.
•Maintains expectations regarding managing, developing and leading teams.
•Develop strategies and programs which support long term business objectives and overall asset health. Guide the drafting and implementation of action plans aimed at optimizing equipment reliability and efficiency
•Ensure leaders uphold workplace standards which safely deliver an engaged workforce who are productive and deliver high-quality repairs. Maintain equipment availability, reliability, and capacity at or above target levels.
•Responsible for executing and developing maintenance strategies to achieve operational excellence while maintaining operational cost controls
•Ensure safety of personnel and assets for which responsible by completing regular training on all health and safety standards and environmental guidelines
•Monitors work performance and addresses situations that do not conform to standards immediately
•Primarily oversees maintenance execution activities across site.
•Oversees the overall safety of all personnel working at, or visiting the site
•Maintains an effective system of communications with employees, supervisors and site management
•Ensure environmental compliance, rehabilitation and compliance with operational permit obligations
•Inspects and inventories all company supplies, tools and equipment
•Investigates abnormal operating events, or equipment failures to determine the cause, and makes adjustments, repairs and/or modifications, as needed
•Ensures conformance with policies and procedures, safety regulations, and local laws and regulations
•Acts as a go-to resource for troubleshooting malfunctions, and other special needs
•Continuously conducts research on industry best practices, and utilizes findings to identify more cost effective, efficient operating procedures
•Lead and coordinate maintenance team to maintain productivity levels, efficiency and safety while managing the assigned area with fiscal integrity
•Manage the performance of assigned personnel - delegate responsibilities while objectively evaluating performance and holding them accountable in a constructive manner
•Develop and implement strategies/ best practices for achieving continuous improvement
•Review weekly and monthly forecast with management and commercial teams to address production schedules to meet customer needs
•Ensure the daily Communications Board with daily/weekly/monthly safety statistics are updated
•Provide work direction, training and support to maintenance workers responsible for inspecting, repairing, moving and/or installing plant machinery and equipment in accordance with instructions, equipment manuals, etc
•Review and generate weekly maintenance plan and backlog with Operations and obtains agreement on the plan/schedule for next week
•Supports and assists personnel in achieving timely and efficient production schedules
•Works with Operations to ensure each planned task is ready with materials/tools before assignment
•Plan major maintenance projects and work with plant management to develop capital investment recommendations to senior management
•Achieve overall equipment effectiveness at the lowest sustainable cost of maintenance
•Review Plan Attainment statistics for previous weeks’ plan and communicates to the team
•Interfaces with third-party vendors
•Provides training and guidance to other employees
Education:
•Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Technologist
•15-20 years experience in an industrial setting with a strong understanding of asset management principles and maintenance best practices.
License:
•Driver's License (Required)
