The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance operations of the company. This role ensures that all equipment, machinery, and systems are functioning efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of maintenance technicians and coordinates preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities to minimize downtime and support optimal production efficiency.
Supervision of Maintenance Team:
Lead, manage, and schedule the daily activities of the maintenance team, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and on time. Provide training, mentorship, and support to maintenance personnel to enhance skills and performance.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:
Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for machinery, equipment, and facilities. Ensure that all critical equipment is maintained to avoid unplanned downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Corrective & Emergency Maintenance:
Coordinate and supervise corrective and emergency repairs on all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Prioritize urgent repairs and mobilize the team to quickly resolve equipment breakdowns and malfunctions.
Equipment Inspections & Troubleshooting:
Conduct regular inspections of plant equipment, machinery, and infrastructure. Identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems to avoid disruptions in production. Provide technical expertise and guidance to maintenance technicians on complex repairs.
Maintenance Scheduling & Planning:
Create and manage the maintenance schedule to minimize production downtime. Plan maintenance activities during scheduled shutdowns or non-peak production periods to ensure minimal impact on manufacturing operations.
Spare Parts Management:
Monitor the inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies. Ensure that sufficient stock is available for repairs and replacements and manage relationships with suppliers for timely procurement of parts.
- Ability to effectively analyze and successfully troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
- Tests and determines problems associated with single phase and 3 phase electrical systems and motors
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools
- Conducts routine preventive maintenance
- Inspects buildings, structures, physical plant equipment and fixtures; identifies maintenance and repair requirements
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports when needed, by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Detail oriented

- Able to work quickly under pressure
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or technical diploma in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred. Certifications in maintenance management, such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional), are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience in metals manufacturing or heavy industry is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficient in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment (e.g., CNC machines, furnaces, presses, etc.).
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS), preventive and predictive maintenance techniques, and reliability engineering.
- Familiarity with industry standards for safety and environmental compliance (OSHA, NFPA, etc.).
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing maintenance team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
