Our production team is expanding, and we’re seeking a skilled Machinist with experience in manufacturing, particularly with aluminum and stainless-steel products.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for machining WeKid products, ensuring a strong focus on health and safety, enhancing efficiency, and upholding MAKR's commitment to quality.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Layout bends and straight pipe for machining
- Operate CNC and manual machining equipment in a safe manner
- Operate all cutting, grinding and drilling equipment in a safe manner
- Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment in a safe manner
- Work with Quality Control, Engineering, Safety Committee and Management to continuously improve the product, manufacturing processes and working environment.
- Accurately track job time using tablet and the bar code system
- Attend and participate in the company-wide daily meeting and shop floor meetings
- Post-secondary degree in Machining or Fabrication trade preferred
- Previous experience working in a Machine Operator or Fabrication role is required, prior work with stainless steel pipe, plate, and sheet is a bonus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints required
- This is an on-site position located in Kelowna, BC. (805 Crowley Ave, Kelowna, BC)
- This position works Monday to Thursday, 10-hour days, afternoon/evening shift
