Machine Shop Helper

Definition of Job Title:

The shop helper performs various duties in support of the shop. These include secondary operations such as deburring, hydroforming, tabbing and sanding as well as general shop cleaning.

Essential functions, duties, and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Sets up and operates sanders, and vibratory machines

- Uses various filing, grinding, sanding and buffing equipment to finish parts.

- Performs secondary processes including tapping, counter-sinking, chamfering, etc

- Experience in these first three operations is highly desired.

- Hydroforming of airplane parts

- Removes lasered parts from sheets in a manner ensuring no damage to sheets occurs.

- Removes tabs from lasered parts using appropriate tools or equipment.

- Set up and cut material stock using various saws.

- Assist in shipping department to maintain on-time deliveries

- Ability to use calipers and tape measure.

- Cleans the shop including floors, machines, cabinets, carts, benches, etc.

- Maintains work area(s) in a neat and orderly fashion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
