About You
Education: High School Diploma (Minimum)
Other Requirements:
•1 year industrial/heavy equipment experience
•Good communication and listening skills
•Ability to work as a team member, and work well unsupervised
•Perform physically demanding tasks such as occasional heavy lifting
Responsibilities:
•Assist in all areas of a busy machine shop
•Learn machine basics and machining techniques defined to specific tolerances using various machine shop equipment; this may include manual lathe, manual milling machine, tensilkut milling machine, manual, grinder, manual broaching machine, drill press, a horizontal metal cutting saw, vertical metal cutting saw, hand grinder, and other hand tools as necessary to perform the task
•Cut and prepare samples for chemical analysis using various equipment including cutting saw, dell press and milling machines
•Participate in training for advanced machine shop testing including chemical analysis and tensile testing as required
•Assist in various lab departments as needed, performing preparation techniques such as grinding samples, cutting plan tissues, sorting samples and other preparation techniques
•Committed to 100% quality and to work to Just-In-Time customer constraints
•Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and procedures committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace
•Any other tasks as determined by the Lab Manager/Process owner
