The primary function for the Mill Operator is to safely operate equipment and feed rubber into a two-roll mill, feed rubber onto conveyor belts, and cut finished rubber.
•Must be available to work overtime (on Fridays)
Responsibilities
•Reads and interprets job documents for mixing and material instructions needed to mill rubber components.
•Employ established set-up and Standard Operating Procedures which pertain to the machines, tooling, gaging, and other necessary equipment.
•Possess and when necessary, utilize the authority to stop any production operation which is unsafe
•Observes the milling machine operation and adjusts controls such as mill speed, lubrication, and density.
•Continuously tends the machine and the material, feeding material back into the rollers and sometimes adding components until the material reaches proper consistency.
•Verifies dimensions of rubber material using various instruments such as rulers, gauges, and calipers
•Delivers samples to the on-site lab for testing, as necessary.
•Removes rubber material and stack as required for shipment.
•Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
•Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
•Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.

•Lift, push and pull up to 60 pounds
•Tolerate a non-controlled temperature environment
•Interpret and communicate detailed instructions and measurements
