Level III Certified Pipe Welder – Kuparuk Project Services – Fab Shop

JOB SUMMARY

The Certified Pipe Welder is responsible for performing a full range of journeyman-level structural & pipe welding procedures. Including Stainless Steel, Copper Nickel and Duplex piping along with pre-heat temperatures, electrode selection, welding processes, and quality control specifications in accordance with the specific metallurgical properties of the material involved. This position performs basic rigging procedures as well as advanced fabrication, lay-out, & field verification techniques. Fabrication skills must include the ability to calculate offsets, skews, and complex elevation changes using high-level math and triangulation methods. Advanced fitting knowledge is required and expected. Successful candidates must PASS a pre-hire welding Pipe test to be qualified for the position. Testing will consist of two tests - 801 downhill and tig root/hot pass with 7018 fill cap.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
