Enterprise Business Services (EBS) is undergoing a transformation to re-establish itself as a quality provider of efficient and effective services to the whole of National Grid. EBS is overhauling several end-to-end processes to deliver a quality service to its internal users (i.e., Business Units) and external customers and suppliers globally.
The Lead Project Manager will lead the day-to-day management of system configuration, ongoing testing, and improvements for HR & Payroll applications. This role will work within the HR and Payroll Technology Team, collaborating with Global Product Owners and managing projects related to various integrated applications. The Project Manager will have primary responsibility for one or more Workforce Software modules, with cross-training requirements to support other designated modules and integrated applications.
- Serve as the central technical subject matter expert and enterprise project manager, driving the configuration and optimization of the system to support global business needs.
- Collaborate with a third-party application support team to manage system configuration, architecture, role-based permissions, data integrity, and releases, while monitoring and resolving defects through effective project management practices.
- Support Product Owners in developing solutions to system challenges, collecting user requirements, researching technical practices, and engaging with the Workforce Software community and user groups to stay updated on leading practices.
- Execute and coordinate User Acceptance Testing and Regression Testing for designated system changes and defect fixes, ensuring all project milestones are met.
- Manage your projects effectively, navigate ambiguity, and build collaborative relationships to enable an exceptional user experience.
- Take on broader responsibilities as part of the HR Systems team, partnering on other HR projects and initiatives.
- Facilitate power user group sessions to provide training or updates, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
- Solve problems and communicate effectively with all stakeholders at all levels of the organization, ensuring project objectives are clearly understood and met.
- Perform any activities as assigned by the line manager.
- At least 3 years of project management experience leading system integrations ideally of workforce software.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Excellent teamwork, verbal and written communication skills (including the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms), as well as project and time management skills are essential.
- B.A./B.Sc. degree in Business, Computer Information Systems, Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education (Desired).
- Experience in HR, ideally in an HR Operations environment with a focus HR, and Payroll (Desired).
