Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Leadperson at the sand and gravel plant in Waterloo, Nebraska. This position is responsible for assisting local leadership with daily operations expectations. This includes solving basic issues, safety compliance, training, and the ability to cover positions within their scope of responsibility.
Essential Functions* Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
•Communicate daily expectations for local leadership based on the safety, quality and production needs.
•Provide training to new hires and transfer employees to ensure competencies are developed.
•Perform data entry operations for safety and production control and communication.
•Establish and maintain effective communications within all areas of the operation.
•Make regular inspections for safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation.
•Provide guidance to employees on safety rules, regulations and procedures of mine and property as set forth by federal, state, local agencies & MM policies.
•Assist Plant Management with covering schedule gaps as needed.
•Complete daily production, safety and maintenance reports accurately.
•Responsible for maintaining quality of all products.
•Maintain housekeeping and appearance standards as established.
•Assist with equipment repairs and housekeeping as needed.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.
Preferred Education and Experience* High school diploma or equivalent
•Supervisor experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* Ability to work in an outdoor environment year round
•Ability to work in elevated areas
•Ability to work with minimal supervision
•Knowledge of MSHA regulations
•Effective written and verbal communication
•Time management skills including planning and prioritizing multiple tasks
